Leonidas Alagialoglou holds a diploma in Electrical and Computers Engineering – School of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and a MSc in Sustainable Agriculture – AUTH. Currently, he is a PhD candidate as a member of the Multimedia Understanding Group (MUG) since October 2019 and works as a research associate in EU-funded projects. He is also a member of the EOS team at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). He has worked as an Embedded Software Engineer in Kenotom P.C. for the development of large plant models used in Hardware-In-the-Loop simulators of the Automotive industry. His research interests involve reliability tasks in machine learning, including calibrated uncertainty quantification, robust generalization and domain adaptation. He spends most of his time thinking about reliable ML techniques in a rigorous sense (e.g., distribution-free statistical guarantees) and applying them in spatio-temporal problems of environmental and urban interest.
2019-today – PhD candidate, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, GreeceTopic: “Reliable Machine Learning from spatio-temporal data”.
2020 – MSc in the School of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, GreeceThesis: “Automatic palynological analysis using deep learning for the identification of three monofloral honeys”.
2013 – Diploma of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, GreeceThesis: “Motion Correction for Myocardial T1 Mapping using Modified Look-Locker Inversion Recovery”, in cooperation with Philips Research Europe, Hamburg, Germany.
