About

Leonidas Alagialoglou holds a diploma in Electrical and Computers Engineering – School of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and a MSc in Sustainable Agriculture – AUTH. Currently, he is a PhD candidate as a member of the Multimedia Understanding Group (MUG) since October 2019 and works as a research associate in EU-funded projects. He is also a member of the EOS team at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). He has worked as an Embedded Software Engineer in Kenotom P.C. for the development of large plant models used in Hardware-In-the-Loop simulators of the Automotive industry. His research interests involve reliability tasks in machine learning, including calibrated uncertainty quantification, robust generalization and domain adaptation. He spends most of his time thinking about reliable ML techniques in a rigorous sense (e.g., distribution-free statistical guarantees) and applying them in spatio-temporal problems of environmental and urban interest.
